Letter # 2424 Brother asks for Nintendo Switch for family

My name is Jorge and I live in Santa Rosa.
I am writing to you today because my family has a problem. My father is the only one that works a full-time job and it is always difficult to make it through weeks without being in need of money. My mother is a stay at home mother and tries her best to get us whatever we need whether it’s food, clothes, or something to pass time by. She doesn’t drive and it’s always been a struggle for us going to school.
I have 2 younger brothers that are 12 and 8. One of them is in elementary school and the other is in middle school. I am currently 17 and I am a senior at Roseland University Prep. Since I can remember I’ve always had to walk to school. Looking back at it I realize that it has been a struggle and it’s a struggle that my younger brothers are going to go through as well. My father goes into work early so there is no way of transportation so we have to walk every day in order to continue our education. All of my brothers and I all love spending time with each other.
We have really been wanting a Nintendo switch so we can play together some of the games that have helped us through tough times. Video games are what connect my brothers and I am grateful of it because it keeps them from getting in trouble out in the streets. Since money is so tight we can’t afford to buy a Nintendo Switch and because money is so tight we struggle with getting clothes and food. We somehow manage to survive but it hasn’t been easy. I’m writing this letter to help support my family. Although I’m only a 17-year old I am always looking for opportunities to take my family forward.
We are wishing that Secret Santa can help us out by granting this wish. We hope to receive a Nintendo switch from our secret Santa. I know how expensive they are and I know it would mean the world to my brothers and me if we received one. Clothes are needed and especially for our family. My parents and I are understanding of our situation but for my brothers, it is sometimes difficult. They only have a pair of shoes each and they use them up until there are holes in them. Since we walk to school we are constantly using our shoes and we wear them out until we realize that they just can’t be used anymore. The same goes for jackets and pants. Winter is right around the corner and I really don’t want them to be walking in the morning to school in the cold.
If we were able to get this help from Secret Santa it would be a massive help and a blessing. Having a Nintendo switch would bring absolute joy to my brothers because they understand that there is no way my parents can afford it. For this reason, I am reaching out for help from someone to help support our family. I’m currently a senior and I’m constantly getting reminded that I am entering the adult world. Meaning I am going to have to be responsible and go to college while maintaining a part-time job in order to help my family. I want to enjoy my final months of being in high school with my brothers and I know that the Nintendo switch will create memories that are treasurable. We would also like to ask for clothes. During the winter it is difficult because we have to use the thin sweaters or jackets we had for the beginning of summer. I have been taking the same jacket to school since I was a junior and I’m a senior now. I’m beginning to feel insecure about people noticing that I wear the same jacket to school.
Thank you very much and I wish you the best for the holiday season.
