Letter # 860 Desperately seeking Santa Letter#860

My name is Lupe and I live in Petaluma.

I am writing to you today because my family has a problem.
My two kids and I are currently living at a family shelter for about 3 months now. I left a 3 year abusive relationship about four months ago and its has been extremely difficult to find housing, especially after last and current fires. My current job gave me a raised hoping it would help me with my expenses, but my income it's still low to survive in this county. I have been applying every where, rooms, studios, apartments, low income housing--everywhere! Many people renting rooms tell me they are looking for single individuals only and other apartments (that I can afford) either have a long wait list, or they required for me to make 3 times the rent. I'm lucky enough i make about 2 times the rent. I have been homeless before, literally slept in my car and shower at SSU while going to school, but this year, I was very lucky to find help through a social worker who gave me the resources I didn't have before so compare to other people out there, who are on the streets and have lost everything, I am very fortunate; however, my stay at the family shelter has an expiration. I only have a few more months before my kids and I are completely homeless.
I don't need money or luxuriates, and although my kids and I are surviving with the minimum, the lack of housing has made everything more stressful and difficult to explain to my children.
All I ask this for this Christmas is a little push to get by these rough times. Whether I get help fixing my credit, finding a home, or a better paying job (although I love what I do--the pay doesn't help my situation)--anything that can help will be very much appreciated.

We are wishing that Secret Santa can help us out by granting this w

My kids and I need a home. That is our number one priority. Our current car, although super old, runs well and it's taking us where we need to go. It does need some repairs but I am slowly fixing them.
My 2 year old and 6 year old need new clothes and shoes, especially for this winter. Pants, socks, long sleeves and possibly rain boots. And like every kid, they want toys that I cannot afford such as iPads, scooters, electronic books (they both love when I read to them), or musical instruments ( my 2 year old loves music).

If we were able to get this help from Secret Santa it would help. me and my kids have a stable place they can finally call home. No fights to see, no more eating out (we share a kitchen that is not the most sanitary place to cook), and no more sharing a bathroom.
The clothes would definitely keep them warm and dry this winter and the toys will keep them distracted from their parent's divorce and the struggle of finding a home.

Any help will also help my mental stability for it has been extremely difficult to stay strong and positive in these rough times.

Thank you very much and I wish you the best for the holiday season.

By checking this box you agree to fulfill this wish.
