Letter # 901 Schoolage student in need Letter #901

Dear Secret Santa,

My friend is a bright young lady who strives to be. She is an only child and lives with her mom in a one-bedroom apartment. Most nights she is left home to cook dinner for herself because her mom is working late. This single mother works hard to provide food for her daughter, but is struggling to be able to provide her daughter with anything beyond the basic necessities. Her jacket is old and worn, and she comes to school in almost the same outfit every day.

To make this Christmas a memorable one, this young woman would benefit from some new clothes, as hers are a few sizes too small, and with the winter weather approaching I worry she will not be able to stay warm without a new jacket. She is an avid reader and loves books for teenage girls. She also enjoys creating artwork and writing so a diary or some art supplies would keep her busy while she is waiting for her mom to get home every day. Being an only child and one who doesn’t’ have any opportunities to do things on the weekends, leaves this young woman isolated a lot. I would love mom and daughter to go to the nail salon and get a manicure or pedicure just a day of pampering for mother and daughter. The mom needs basic supplies at home, food, and dishes or bedding. Gift cards for the movies or a restaurant would be great as well. Both mother and daughter need some blankets and warm jackets that would help keep them warm this winter. Thank you for helping my friend in need, all your support is greatly appreciated.
