Letter # 915 Grandmother asks for help with kids Letter#915

Dear Secret Santa,

I know a family in need this holiday season. One of my friends is being raised by his grandmother as his own mother has been unable to care for him consistently. His grandmother is also raising her other grandkids off and on. She works tirelessly to support the family.

We met this friend in Juvenile Hall when he was falsely accused of committing a crime. His family faced immense hardship, both emotional and financial, as they had to navigate the Juvenile Justice System. In the end, this member was cleared of all charges, and in working with him during this time, it was like watching the weight of the world lift from his shoulders. Now that he no longer has to worry about the legal matters, this friend has his sights on graduating from high-school and going on to art school.

He’s an extremely talented artist and works on his craft with inspiring passion. His grandmother is so very proud of him and goes above and beyond to provide him with art supplies so that he can continue working toward his dream. Often, she puts his dream ahead necessities—her confidence in him going out and changing the world fuels her to support him unconditionally. Even with grandma’s support, my friend does not always have access to decent art supplies. I know my friend would be overjoyed to have quality art supplies that help him to grow and make his dream a reality.

Grandma could also definitely use some help with gift cards to local stores such as Target, Wal-Mart, Ross, Safeway, Foodmaxx, or Bed Bath and Beyond to buy the family some household supplies, groceries, and bedding items.
