Dear Secret Santa,
I’m reaching out to tell you about a local veteran who has had a particularly difficult year. This individual is a strong and resilient person who has worked hard to create stability in their life, despite the lasting trauma they experienced during military service. Unfortunately, due to the effects of that trauma, they are unable to work, and their resources are extremely limited.
Right now, they have no income and cannot afford to buy themselves new clothes. This year, they have a heartfelt wish: they would love some help in getting new clothes and a pair of shoes. They would like their outside appearance to reflect the healing and peace they’ve been working so hard to cultivate on the inside—and to prepare for the colder winter months ahead.
A gift card to a local store they can easily access would be a huge blessing. It would allow them to purchase the essentials they need, and more importantly, it would show them that their community cares.
